Jean-Claude Vignoli, President

Jean-Claude co-founded UPR Info in 2009, an internationally successful human rights NGO providing civil society worldwide with the tools to defend their rights. He studied international relations at the Graduate Institute of International Studies in Geneva. Between 2017 and 2019, he took part in the arrest of dozens of wildlife traffickers in Cameroon, Ivory Coast and Togo. After several years of journalism in South America and many experiences with various indigenous peoples, he decided to found "The Guardians of the Amazon" in 2024.

Yuber Gonzalez Rodriguez, Vice-president

Yuber an indigenous person of the Puinave and Curripaco ethnic groups of the Morichal Viejo reservation and others that make up the reservation, located in the municipality of El retorno, department of Guaviare. Son of the renowned teacher Ernesto Puno Gonzales Castro and Mrs. Yanet Rodriguez Mandu, technician in agricultural production of SENA, studied development and sustainable tourism in rural areas. Diploma in constitutional and legislative rights, he is a young man who carries the voice with a sense of belonging of the unheard and unrepresented in various advocacy spaces.

Miller Guzman Garcia, Secretary

Miller has 20 years of experience as a project manager and 12 years as a cultural manager throughout the entire Colombian territory. He has been managing international resources for projects benefiting vulnerable populations and experience in the implementation of high social impact projects in peasant and indigenous communities such as: Wayuu, Zenú, Kamentsa, Wounaan and Embera Katío. Organizer and director of 5 international poetry festivals, he is an actor, poet and English teacher. He studied marketing with a focus on tourism and airline industry.

German Carvajal Beltran, Treasurer

Germán was born in San José del Guaviare and is a social leader and serves as president of the community action board. He is public accountant by profession, and has dedicated part of his life to help the most vulnerable and to protect our natural environment. He was president of the eco guides association between 1999 and 2001, where he had the opportunity to learn and share knowledge about the conservation and preservation of the Amazonian ecosystem.
